I am excited to again be offering two separate week-long art enrichment sessions this summer for interested high school artists of all experience levels who want to build skills, strengthen art portfolios, develop existing projects, or simply create new and interesting works of art in a small group setting. Each session consists of one week of daily 3-hour lessons and studio production in my studio in Chevy Chase, Maryland that provides time for the focused exploration of ideas, materials, and techniques student artists crave in a fun, relaxed and stimulating environment.
We ease in to each day with skill-building warm-ups and materials demonstrations. For each session projects typically include the depiction of the human form and rendering from direct observation--important staples for strong art portfolios--as well as thought-provoking design challenges and experimentation with non-traditional art materials. Depending on student interests and needs, we tailor single or multi-media projects in 2D, 3D or digital forms. Students are guided to personalize each work through creative interpretations of project guidelines, self-awareness of personal voice, and both standard and nontraditional uses of materials and techniques.
Advanced students often work independently on individualized pieces designed specifically for their AP Art and Design or IB portfolios. Students are welcome to bring in additional projects they are working on outside of our sessions to get guidance, ideas and feedback.
REGISTRATION & payment:
Each group session fee includes all materials. Start your registration by completing and submitting the form below. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your registration form as well as mailing information if paying by check. Advance payment in full required, 50% refund of payment made with notice from participant no later than 60 days prior to session start dates. Registration is confirmed based on availability of space, receipt of registration information and payment.
